Sara Pieters

In 2002 Sara graduated from the University of Leuven with a master and a post-master degree in applied economics. After her studies she started to work as a project coordinator for Voka – Chamber of Commerce Antwerp-Waasland. She was responsible for starting up and rolling out various projects, first in the Innovation and Enterprise department and then in the International department.
In 2006 she decided to give her career a different twist and joined Flanders District of Creativity. Today she looks back on 5 great years working for Flanders DC as a Manager International Relations: she had the chance to learn a lot in the field of creativity & innovation, work on nice EU funded projects, travel and discover new cultures, new approaches and new insights, and meet and work with great people.
But after 5 years it was also “her task” to stay true to Flanders DC’s values: Innovation & Creativity. That’s why she recently decided to leave Flanders DC, to start up her own business and to bring into practices the things she learned: making organisations more creative and discovering the innovation path with them, with a strong focus on people and experiences.
Sara is experienced in applying several innovation & creativity techniques, is a certified FORTH facilitators (www.forth-innovation.com) and expert in the Experience Economy.
