Place Rogier – the hotels

HQ hotel, Senate hotel and a selection of hotels you can find on  www.resotel.be/jci are located around Place Rogier in Brussels. We chose to concentrate the hotels around this place – rather than near to the congress center - because it is near to the city center where most of the evening activities will take place. Transport between Place Rogier and Brussels Expo is very easy by subway (direct connection in 26 minutes).

Brussels Expo

With its 115,000 m2 of facilities, Brussels Expo is Belgium’s biggest Exhibition Centre. It also reflects the enthusiasm and the energy of the capital of Europe.

Brussels and Brussels Expo are much more than the heart of Europe: they are at the crossroads of the international world of trade and industry, commerce and business.

Halls 2, 4, 5, 6 and 10 (where the tradeshow will take place) were built in 1935, during the first World Expo in Belgium. Hall 5, the jewel of the site, served as the inspiration for the Brussels Expo logo.

In 1958 – for the second World Expo in Belgium – the Atomium was build in front of the congress center.

Brussels Expo will host the major part of the  2011 JCI World Congress.

Autoworld

Autoworld, the most impressive collection of old-timers in the world, which officially opened its doors at the Palais Mondial in October 1986, is situated in a very beautiful and luxurious building, which invites you to stroll through the history of the automobile from 1886 until the seventies.

The majority of oldtimers belong to the Mahy collection of Ghent, the most important in the world (950 vehicles). Superb exhibits, selected from the De Pauw collection complete the exhibition. Both Belgian and foreign cars are displayed.

This magical place will host the JCI senators lunch on Thursday, November 3th.
